Dean!
From the original
Dean From Hell's specs
The Dean From Hell CFH is a reproduction of the original guitar played by
Dimebag Darrell on Pantera's early recordings and as it appeared on the album
cover of Cowboys From Hell. This guitar was Darrell's most famous design.
The mahogany body and neck are covered in the familiar blue finish, with the
legendary lightning bolts on the top. A Bill Lawrence L500XL pickup in the
bridge position and Dean hand wound humbucker at the neck take you from
screeching metal lead tones to crunchy rhythm sounds with a flick of the 3-way
toggle. Pluck a harmonic and use the licensed Floyd Rose tremolo to take it to
the outer limits. The ultrafast neck is topped with a rosewood fretboard for
high-speed shredding galore. Dimebag traction knobs ensure you'll be able to
adjust them no matter how much sweat is pouring. Includes a Dean custom hard
shell case.

This is
the most well known Dean Guitar due to the radical look and V shaped Headstock
and V shaped tailpiece. It was popularized by the guitarist Dimebag Darrell. It
is one of the most well known heavy metal guitars and has received many tributes
from guitarists such as Michael Angelo Batio and Dave Mustaine of Megadeth. A
special feature of this guitar that was different to many guitars at the time is
that the neck had a slight "v" shape to it, which allowed for fast playing, yet
it was still strong. Also this shape allowed it to fit into the hand more
comfortably. The mass of the guitar is spread out over a wider area than most
guitars in order to maximize sustain. It was named in honour of the late Mat
Lynn, who was a childhood friend of Dean. The Dean ML is a combination of a
Flying V and Explorer.

About Dean Guitars - A Quick
History Lesson...
Dean Guitars was born in 1976, in the attic of the Chicago suburban childhood
home of company founder Dean B. Zelinsky. The eighteen-year-old Zelinsky was
convinced that guitar design and manufacturing had hit a wall. Rock music was
huge and guitar makers were failing to keep up with the times. The world was
ready for a guitar that looked, played, and sounded superior to what was
available from manufacturers at that time. Zelinsky had a better idea.
What followed was a line of electric guitars that for the first time allowed
players to play to their potential. With its highly visible V-shaped headstock
and trademark wing logo, Dean became in effect, the first boutique guitar line
in the history of rock music.
These guitars had to be played to be believed, and played they were! Dean
guitars started showing up on rock stages worldwide, album covers, and
especially on the newly emerging channel called MTV. Dean Guitars were featured
in the award-winning MTV Video of the Year three of the first four years
running. By the time Dean created the famous Spinning Fur Guitars Dean’s early
place in Rock history was firmly cemented.
Over 30 years later, you can still buy the same USA made boutique Dean Guitars.
Today, Dean Guitars has taken that same concept of creating a superior
instrument to a whole new level. Dean is now a full line of fretted instruments
including electric and acoustic guitars, basses, jazz guitars, resonators,
banjos and mandolins. More importantly, Dean is dedicated to delivering these
fine quality instruments at a value that is second to none. |
