not just an INSTRUMENT, it's a WEAPON
Who Is Michael Angelo Batio?
Batio is an exclusive user of Dean Guitars. He has
developed a signature guitar with Dean, known as the "MAB 1
Armorflame.
Michael Angelo Batio is an American virtuoso guitarist and columnist
from Chicago, Illinois. He attended Northeastern Illinois University
and received a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theory and Composition. In
2003, Guitar One Magazine voted Batio the fastest guitar player of
all time. MAB was also mentioned and listed recently in Guitar World
Magazine in an article where he was listed as one of top 50 fastest
guitarists in the world.
Batio is ambidextrous, and can play two guitars at the same time -
either in synchronization or using separate harmonies. When playing
one guitar, he plays as a right-handed person even though he is
naturally left-handed. He is noted for his "MAB Over-Under"
technique, which he invented, where he flips his hand over and under
the neck, approaching the strings from above, then below, instead of
from under the neck like other guitar players. Batio often plays
with his fret hand above the neck, in a piano-playing style.
Michael Angelo Batio designed his
signature MAB1 Armorflame to handle the punishing leads that he is
known for the world over.
Featuring an ultra slim, super
fast, 24 fret neck, an ebony fingerboard, EMG active 81, S and 85
pickups, a genuine Floyd Rose tremolo, this guitar is not just an
instrument, it's a weapon!

About Dean Guitars - A
Quick History Lesson...
Dean Guitars was born in 1976, in the attic of the Chicago
suburban childhood home of company founder Dean B. Zelinsky.
The eighteen-year-old Zelinsky was convinced that guitar
design and manufacturing had hit a wall. Rock music was huge
and guitar makers were failing to keep up with the times.
The world was ready for a guitar that looked, played, and
sounded superior to what was available from manufacturers at
that time. Zelinsky had a better idea.
What followed was a line of electric guitars that for the
first time allowed players to play to their potential. With
its highly visible V-shaped headstock and trademark wing
logo, Dean became in effect, the first boutique guitar line
in the history of rock music.
These guitars had to be played to be believed, and played
they were! Dean guitars started showing up on rock stages
worldwide, album covers, and especially on the newly
emerging channel called MTV. Dean Guitars were featured in
the award-winning MTV Video of the Year three of the first
four years running. By the time Dean created the famous
Spinning Fur Guitars Dean’s early place in Rock history was
firmly cemented.
Over 30 years later, you can still buy the same USA made
boutique Dean Guitars. Today, Dean Guitars has taken that
same concept of creating a superior instrument to a whole
new level. Dean is now a full line of fretted instruments
including electric and acoustic guitars, basses, jazz
guitars, resonators, banjos and mandolins. More importantly,
Dean is dedicated to delivering these fine quality
instruments at a value that is second to none.
